Day 4/100
Wade Lagoon
It’s the first sunny day after a week of thunderstorms and all the cherry trees and magnolias have bloomed in Wade Lagoon! I like Wade Lagoon because you would never expect a place so idyllic to be smack dab in the middle of the city, bordered by MLK drive, Euclid, and Chester. Everything is here: Severance Hall, Case Campus, CIA, the Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, and the Natural History museum. If you ever have trouble finding parking here, try the west border of the lagoon along MLK!
Random note: The lagoon people (who owns it anyway, the art museum?) used to hire a woman and her dog to scare the Canadian geese away, but that was a long time ago and now they’re all over the place.
Another random note: I saw a wild turkey hanging out under a cherry tree today in the lagoon. I guess it could have also been a very ugly, wrinkled and deformed duck with a big red comb.

Day 3/100
Loganberry Books
Loganberry makes me think of Beauty and the Beast - when Belle sings and swings on long ladders to reach the top shelves in her favorite bookstore. It’s a huge bookstore made of small rooms tucked away here and there filled with used books from floor to ceiling. If you go at the right time of day, you can see old ladies binding books in the back! And if you go at the right time of year, you might catch their Edible Books contest. I’ve randomly walked into this twice now - for a few dollars you get to vote for a cake you think best represents a book and then you get to taste them all!

Day 2/100
Marc’s Neighborhood Store
Marc’s is a discount cash-only supermarket. I love it for its crazy section; each Marc’s dedicates at least a few aisles to random things like squeegees, frames, bras, hoses, flower pots, beach towels, and even Browns and Indians jackets all at wholesale prices. This one is on Coventry - apparently it’s only semi-crazy compared to other Marc’s around Cleveland.

Day 1/100
Shaker Square Farmers’ Market
We’ve been going for almost four years now, and I recognize more than half of the vendors. Pierogi guy, mushroom farm guy, cheese people, maple variation lady (maple mustard, maple popcorn), pie man, the young girl who makes beautiful pastries, amish couple in the veggie stand by sarava, relatively new flowers guy. Hmm, maybe I should start learning their names.
I’ve completely bought into the farmers’ market mentality, despite the high prices; fresh produce just tastes so much better, especially after watching Food Inc. I guess this is more a drawing of the tree (and christmas lights wrapped around it) and you can just kind of make out the market in the back. I was sitting in front of Dewey’s and this tree was blocking my view, so I had to include it.
